Another terrific pointer, thank you. A notable thing I should also point out from those papers is the gross misuse of the word "sentient", when in fact the word "sapient" is accurate. Plenty of people make this error, even in Star Trek and other so-called hard sci-fi, but it carries its own distinction — as sapience refers to not just "feeling" but ALSO inclusive of "thinking and reasoning" which is more in line with any above-human AI.
